When you are in a Network, you need to share folders but you don’t want anybody to modify the contents of these folders. One way is that you can ask them not to modify them. Or the other way is to make it secure by applying Permissions. Applying permissions would mean having a good amount of technical knowledge to make a perfect shared folder according to the need.
Now, there is a small wizard within windows that can help you in creating a shared folder and giving permissions in a much simpler way that any body can perform this task.

  1. Go to Run and type SHRPUBW.EXE and a wizard will be displayed.
  2. Select you folder you want to share, give it’s share name and description.
  3. Give the permissions according to your needs. You can also specify custom permissions, if you have knowledge of security and permissions. If you are using NTFS as your partition then you will see more security option than in FAT and FAT32. Finish the Process
  4. SHRPUBW

You are now done, your folder is now shared with the permissions you granted, without having any technical knowledge. It’s so Easy :) .
