When you install Windows Xp Home or Professional Editions, then the first thing you observe is the Windows Tour. This keeps on popping up again and again till you complete the tour.
Windows Tour is a service which was developed so as to make people comfortable with Xp as the interface provided had some new features. But this became a bit of a pain when we were not able to stop it at any point of time. Hiding it in the notification area didn’t help too much. This tour was then taken off in Windows Xp SP1 and SP2. But in case if you are still using the Xp home or Professional editions then you can try to disable it using the Registry Settings. Before performing this make sure you backup your registry.
Here is what you need to do.
This was the registry setting which i found was existent in Windows Xp SP1 and SP2 versions, and creating them in the earlier versions of it help in stopping the Windows Tour.

A very nice trick. I never bothered shutting it down completely. Whenever I install Windows, or make a new user account, I simply open the tour and then shut it down. That gets rid of
Is editing the registry required for this? I think there are some other methods.
@ nirmal : Whenever you will create a new account, It will pop up, So this can be stopped through registry as per my knowledge. Also there are other methods, but they will stop the Windows tour only for the particular account.
